Andrew Dennison
On land this flat
everything is a figure —
me
a house
a mound
a stone
that monumental silence
nicked open
by oystercatchers
and the whole sky,
still hazy-blue with
the residue of day.
Andrew Dennison is an architectural assistant and writer from Orkney, Scotland, now living in London. He studied architecture at the University of Dundee, and was commended in the 2024 National Poetry Competition for his poem, ‘Courgettes’.
