Ode to the Dead Internet Bots

            David Harrison Horton

There are mechanics and the sounds
of wind that accompany every start
of winter.

I will not try to think too much
about squirrel hibernation
or my neighbor’s pigeons.
They will get by,
make do.

Having never seen a mustard seed,
I do like the parables
about them.

Having never been inside a black hole,
I like to imagine the singular
non-existence
of space-time.

It won’t matter if the laundry is done
or your socks are dirty.
Believe you me.
